Do you often struggle just to get out of bed in the morning then "drag along" for hours, and sometimes suffer from day-long depression.  If so you're probably experiencing depression in the morning or probably you're a victim of the "morning blues."  Usually, depression in the morning indicate that you have fallen into poor mental health habits.

A medical doctor recommend three simple steps to beat depression in the morning:

Step one:  Make a list of anything that caused you stress during the day, next, list only potential disturbing situations.  It's good for a single woman to jot down her feelings and emotions on paper.  It's one way of relieving herself of her insecurities and reinforcing her hopes and dreams, pouring out those things she wouldn't want to tell anyone.

Step two:  Train your body and mind to relax, lie down in quiet comfort and take three deep breaths.  Then concentrate on releasing all tension from head to toe.  After  practicing this five-minute relaxation period a few nights, you'll find yourself enjoying a refreshing release from physical and mental tension.

Step three:  Now that you've completely relaxed, this is where you learn to talk to yourself.  Give yourself up-beat suggestions that suit your particular circumstances.  Always tell yourself about positive action to make tomorrow a brighter day,  says a psychologist.  Allow your mind to float while you picture the happy experience of walking in a pleasant and joyous mood.

Finally, tell yourself that you're going to fall into a deep and relaxed sleep and wake up happy.  It may seem hard to believe that such a short and easy process will rid you of the dreaded morning blues but it works says a medical doctor.

              Good morning

             A relax and deep sleep

Here are four tactics to rouse you from the sleepy state from the sleep experts:

  • Take a shower.  The sound and sensation of water hitting your skin stimulates your nerves and speeds the wake-up call to your brain.  A shower is better than a bath- submerging yourself in the tub can actually lull you back into the sleepy state.

            Take a shower

  • Look out the window.  Natural light is a stimulant, instantly energizing your mind, mood and body.  If the sun hasn't come up yet, just turn enough lights to mimic the day-time levels of brightness.

            Look outside

  • Do some brain exercises.  Composing a memo or mentally plotting your daily sked helps the brain wake up.
  • Eat breakfast.  Eating a low fat, protein, and carbo-rich food helps maintain a steady energy level throughout the morning and gives your brain the ready energy it needs to think.

           Don't forget to eat breakfast
